Call For Papers CoDS Call for Papers [PDF]

We invite papers in three broad areas: Machine Learning, Text Analytics and Data Management. Papers reporting original research in all related areas are also welcome. We also invite industrial case studies and experiences on large data that show case new domains, tools or techniques. The submissions should not exceed 10 pages and should be formatted in the standard ACM style. It is planned that the proceedings will be in ACM DL. The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Large Scale Optimization
  • Statistical Relational Learning
  • Online Learning
  • Parallel/Distributed ML
  • Semi-supervised Learning
  • Learning with Side Information
  • Learning with Noisy Data
  • Mining Linked Data
  • Social Network Analysis
  • Approximation algorithms for ML
  • Anytime algorithms for ML
  • Stream Data Mining
  • Text Analytics
  • Knowledge-driven mining
  • Information Retrieval
  • Information Extraction
  • Privacy and Security
  • Semantic Web/Ontologies
  • Columnar Storage/NoSQL databases
  • Distributed Storage Systems
  • Architecture-aware mining algorithm
  • Large Scale Application Case Studies

In addition, we also invite proposals for data challenges competitions that will be run as part of the conference. Proposals should have a brief description of the analytics problem; the data that will be released as part of the competition; duration of the challenge; and the judging criteria. We typically expect the challenges to run for two months prior to the date of the conference.
