Student Travel Grants — CODS 2026

Student Travel Grants — CODS 2026

CODS 2026, with generous support from our sponsors, will provide travel assistance to a limited number of full-time students from degree-granting institutions to attend the conference in person. The goal is to promote the participation of students from a diverse set of institutions and backgrounds who can benefit from attending a leading conference on data science and engaging with experts and their peers. Students who are provided a travel grant must attend all four days of the conference in person.

The travel grant program this year has two tiers:

  • Grant with Accommodation: Monetary support up to INR 6,000 to cover travel, conference registration at a nominal rate, and shared accommodation at no cost.
  • Monetary-only Grant: Monetary support up to INR 6,000 to cover travel and conference registration at a nominal rate, without accommodation. This tier is offered to maximize the number of students who can benefit from the grant.

Accepted applicants will need to first register for the conference to avail the grant. As a condition of the grant, all recipients are required to publish a short blog post on social media after the conference, reflecting on their experience at CODS 2026. The post may focus on new learnings, a particular session or talk that stood out, mentorship received, networking opportunities, or anything else they found valuable. This is a light but important way to share the value of the conference with the broader community.

Two-Stage Process

Applications will be accepted in two stages.

Stage 1

Open to all eligible full-time students, regardless of whether they are submitting a paper to CODS 2026.

Stage 2

Open exclusively to authors of papers accepted for publication at CODS 2026 (across any track).

Note: Authors who applied in Stage 1 and were placed on the waitlist will receive preference in Stage 2 — these applicants need not reapply and will be reconsidered automatically.
Students applying only in Stage 2 must submit a fresh application during the Stage 2 window.
